Spoken was founded in 2010 and it has undergone a number of iterations over the years. From winning the title of the UK’s best spirits bar, to creating memorable events throughout the town, the focus has always been about quality.

WHAT IS SPOKEN?

Spoken is Exmouth’s pizza & tapas restaurant, bar and private hire venue, bringing together bold flavours, vibrant cocktails, and a relaxed vibe. We’re passionate about creating a space where great food meets great company—whether you’re here for a freshly-baked pizza fresh from the oven, a signature drink from our extensive bar, or simply to soak up the atmosphere. At Spoken, every visit is designed to feel special.

HOW DO WE ORDER AT SPOKEN?

At Spoken, we get it—you want to walk in, grab a beer with friends, and dive straight into the good times. No waiting to be greeted, seated, and handed a menu for what you already know you want. That’s why we keep things simple and relaxed. Order at the bar or via the QR code, find your perfect spot, and let the conversation flow. It’s casual, it’s easy, and it’s exactly how social dining should feel.

DO YOU OFFER ENTERTAINMENT?

Absolutely! Throughout the year there are all manner of events planned. From wine tastings through to DJ nights. From outside DJs in the summer months, there is always something going on. Most weekends you’ll catch a DJ doing their thing, so on your evening out make sure you drop by to see what’s on - or follow our socials for the latest news.

CAN I HIRE SPOKEN FOR AN EVENING?

Spoken offers a stylish, flexible setting perfect for everything from intimate celebrations to lively parties. Our team is here to help you personalize every detail—whether it’s bespoke menus, signature cocktails, or entertainment that suits your night.

DO YOU TAKE RESERVATIONS?

At Spoken, we keep things relaxed and easy—most of our tables are available on a walk-in basis so you can drop by whenever the mood strikes. However, for larger groups of six or more, we’re happy to take reservations to make sure you’ve got the perfect spot waiting. Whether it’s a family gathering, a celebration, or a night out with friends, booking ahead ensures your experience is seamless.

DO YOU ACCEPT ANIMALS?

Whilst we love animals of all kinds, due to the nature of food, drink and size of the venue we are unfortunately unable to allow pets in whilst others are looking to dine and have their own time out from life.
